About the Audition

SECOND CASTING for roles in the musical "Callas & Onassis"

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the great Maria Callas in 2023, TMPC - Varna State Opera will present the world premiere of the musical "Callas & Onassis" with music, script and lyrics by Christos Papageorgiou. The production is the work of the artistic tandem Stratzimir Pavlov - musical director, conductor and arrangements and Petko Bonev - director, both are authors of the successful musicals "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast", productions of the State Opera of Varna with previews for Bulgaria in 2021 and 2022 .

The casting is for the roles:

• Maria Callas (soprano);

• Aristo Onassis (baritone);

• Tina Livanos (pop soprano);

• Batista Meneghini (tenor);

• Stavros Niarchos (baritone/tenor);

• Jackie Kennedy (pop soprano);

• The young Maria (soprano girl-11-14 years old);

• Fiona von Thyssen (soprano/soprano roar);

• Alexander (tenor/pop tenor);

• Kostas Gratsos (tenor - actor);

• Sir Winston Churchill (bass/baritone);

• Prince Rainier (actor);

Mr Christos Papageorgiou will also present at the Casting.

Who can participate

Singers and talents without further conditions.

23 JANUARY 2023, 13:00 -15.30, Main rehearsal hall, Varna State Opera, 1 Nezavisimost Square, Varna for live audition.

24 JANUARY 2023, 11.00-14.00 Bulgarian time, ONLINE AUDITION.

How to apply

Applicants must present in English/Italian one or two solo arias - songs, duet, ensemble and dialogue.

The production of the show will evaluate all submitted applications and select the best ones.
