About the Workshop

The Masterclass will be held on June 15.-20.6. 2026, culminating in a Gala Concert on June 18 at Filharmonia Kameralna im. Witolda Lutosławskiego w Łomży. 10 singers will be selected to participate.

Apply by May 20 and gain invaluable experience by joining our exclusive Masterclasses led by distinguished lecturers Oliver Dohnanyi, Natalia Melnik, Corrado Valvo, Małgorzata Trojanowska and Anna Jeremus-Lewandowska.

Natalia Melnik

Natalia Melnik is a Ukrainian soprano and a a teacher at The Academy of Performing Arts Music and Dance Faculty (HAMU) in Prague. A graduate of the Kyiv Conservatoire and former soloist of the Kyiv National Opera, she has appeared in major coloratura and lyric soprano roles, including Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda in Rigoletto, Violetta in La traviata, Norina in Don Pasquale, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte. Her career includes guest performances at the Prague State Opera, Volksoper Wien, Karlsruhe and Wiesbaden, as well as concert and touring appearances in Europe, North America and Japan, making her experience particularly valuable for young singers working on technique, style, repertoire and stage readiness.

Oliver Dohnányi

Oliver Dohnányi is a Czech distinguished conductor with extensive experience in both opera and symphonic repertoire. He studied conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Václav Neumann and at the Musikhochschule in Vienna with Otmar Suitner, and later held leading artistic positions including principal conductor of the Slovak National Theatre Opera and principal conductor of the National Theatre Opera in Prague. He has conducted opera houses and orchestras in Europe and beyond, including engagements in Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, London, Copenhagen and Wexford, and has collaborated with ensembles such as the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.

Corrado Valvo

Corrado Valvo is an Italian conductor, pianist and vocal coach specialising in opera, vocal preparation and musical collaboration. He is coordinator of the Department of Singing and Music Theatre at the Conservatorio “F. Cilea” in Reggio Calabria and works closely with singers as a pianist, coach and accompanist in vocal masterclasses. His work includes collaboration with leading opera artists such as Barbara Frittoli and Carmen Giannattasio, including masterclasses organised within the Let’s Sing programme. Combining conducting experience with hands-on répétiteur and coaching practice, he offers young singers practical guidance in phrasing, style, ensemble awareness, rehearsal discipline and communication with conductors and coaches.

Małgorzata Trojanowska

Małgorzata Trojanowska is a Polish soprano, conductor and vocal pedagogue, holding a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in vocal studies. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, she studied both choral conducting and solo singing, the latter in the class of Prof. Ewa Iżykowska. She is a prizewinner of numerous vocal competitions and artistic scholarships, and has appeared with leading Polish opera houses and orchestras, including the Polish Royal Opera, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Podlaskie Opera and Philharmonic, the Grand Theatre in Łódź and the Polish Radio Orchestra. Her repertoire spans opera, operetta and oratorio, with roles including Poppea, Almirena, Serpina, Titania, Dido, the Countess, Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Halka, Mimì and Tosca. As a pedagogue, she collaborates with the University of Białystok and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.

Anna Jeremus-Lewandowska

Anna Jeremus-Lewandowska is a Polish coloratura soprano, professor and vocal pedagogue specialising in solo singing, vocal pedagogy and coloratura soprano technique. She teaches solo singing at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and has performed more than thirty opera and operetta roles, including Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Norina in Don Pasquale, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Violetta in La traviata and Gilda in Rigoletto. Her work combines stage practice, vocal pedagogy and research; she is the author of a book on coloratura soprano technique and has led international vocal workshops since 2009.

Who are the participants

The competition is open to UKRAINIAN SINGERS of all voice types between the ages of 18 and 38.



How to apply

To enter the first round, participants must submit two video recordings of opera arias (from two different operas, in the original language), along with a current headshot. Applications can only be submitted via the official Let’s Sing application at www.letssing.eu, starting from 8 May 2026.



Workshop procedure

Under the guidance of internationally acclaimed artists and coaches, participants will develop key skills essential for a successful operatic career.

How to inhabit a role—musically and physically

3. Repertoire Coaching

Style and tradition across different composers (Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, etc.)

Language and diction (Italian, French, German repertoire)

Ornamentation, cadenzas, and performance practices

Personalized repertoire advice for auditions and competitions

4. Musical Collaboration

Working with the conductor and maestro collaboratore

Ensemble skills: timing, cueing, and musical flexibility

Score analysis and interpretive choices from a conductor’s perspective

Preparing arias and scenes as in real professional rehearsals

Prizes

There is no workshops fee. Accommodation is covered by the organiser; participants are responsible for their own travel costs.
